Taragon, Non-Flowering "Little Dragon" Herb, And Its Nutritious Contains

Tarragon herb or dragon wort, non-flowering herb, famous as one of the French fines herbs blend, along with Chervil, Parsley and Thyme, is very popular culinary herb used as flavoring agent in Europe, especially in the Mediterranean cuisines. It has a wonderful fragrance, and is a very easy disease free grower. Tarragon has a sort of liquorice flavour, that is particularly good with fish, but can also be added in small amounts to fresh salads. It is the secret ingredient in Remoulade, Tartar, Bernaise Sauces and French Dressing. Add Tarragon during that last 15 minutes of cooking time, as it can turn bitter when cooked too long.

Tarragon is a very fine leaf that doesn't lend itself to drying. To preserve Tarragon through the winter, place sprigs in a small plastic snack bag, press out the air and freeze, (make sure you label), and you will have that lovely deep green fragrant herb throughout the cold season.

Tarragon isn't an especially medicinal herb, it is a pleasant after dinner digestive tea with a little honey and lemon. However, it does make a fantastic vinegar to splash on steamed veggies, or add a bit of zip to gravies and soups.

Russian tarragon (A. dracunculoides) is a more robust closely related species which is, however, quite inferior in flavor and hence less preferred in cooking.
This herb is small shrub featuring slim woody branching stems that reach up to a meter in height. Grows well in rich sandy soil with adequate sunlight. Its leaves are smooth, dark green with pointed ends.

Health benefits of Tarragon herb

  • This exquisite herb is rich in numerous health benefiting phyto-nutrients that are indispensable for optimum health.
  • The main essential oils in tarragon are estragole (methyl chavicol), cineol, ocimene and phellandrene.
  • Tarragon has been used in traditional medicines for stimulating the appetite and as a remedy for anorexia symptoms.
  • Scientific studies suggest that poly-phenolic compounds in this herb help lower blood glucose levels.
  • Laboratory studies on tarragon extract shows certain compounds in them inhibit platelet activation, preventing platelet aggregation and adhesion to blood vessel wall.  Thus helps prevent clot formation inside narrow blood vessels of heart and brain protecting from heart attack and stroke.
  • The herb is very rich source of vitamins such as vitamin-C, vitamin-A as well as B-complex group of vitamins such as folates, pyridoxine, niacin, riboflavin, etc that function as anti-oxidant as well as co-factors in metabolism.
  • Tarragon is notably excellent source of minerals like calcium, manganese, iron, magnesium, copper, potassium and zinc.

Medicinal uses of tarragon

  • Tarragon herb has been used in traditional medicines for stimulating the appetite and as a remedy for anorexia, dyspepsia, flatulence and hiccups.

Red Clover ( Trifolium Pratense ) - Semanggi Merah Si "Pemurni" Darah

Nama Alternatif :

Beebread ( roti lebah ); semanggi sapi , rumput Sapi; semanggi padang rumput, semanggi ungu ; pratense Trifolium

Ramuan Herbal Mengatasi Sakit Maag

Seibu jari rimpang kunyit setelah dicuci, diparut. Parutannya kemudian diberi sedikit air dan diperas. Minum 2x sehari, pagi sebelum makan dan malam sebelum tidur.
Ambil gel segar dari setengah lembar daun lidah buaya. Gel sebanyak ini diminum untuk sekali minum. Minumlah 2x sehari.

4.Cincau Hitam (Mesona palustris)

Ambil segenggam daun cincau (± 80 g berat basah). Daun dicuci bersih lalu digiling sampai halus.

The 7 Best Herbs To Reduce Stress & The Effects Of Stress

Herbs are not second best to "chemical medicine" in helping to fight stress. In the contrary - herbs are much more intelligent, have many more components that all work together, and of course, they have EVOLVED TOGETHER with our likewise immensely complicated human bodies, side by side.

Especially when it comes to reducing the effects of stress on the body - which is so more than "just a chemical reaction"! - herbs are a perfect solution to reduce stress related build ups of toxins, to calm the overactive mind, to help break down adrenaline, to strengthen the heart and breathing systems, all of which are under attack by ongoing stress.

Here are the 7 best herbs to reduce stress and the effects of stress.

1. St John's Wort - Hypericum Formosum

What makes this herb the No. 1 herbal stress reliever is the fact that St John's Wort helps the pituitary gland to break down excess quantities of the the stress hormone norepinephrine. Norepinephrine blocks the production of human growth hormone, which is our personal wonder medicine, produced right by our own bodies to keep us young, healthy, and active.

St John's Wort thereby works in two different ways to help with stress - firstly, by removing the stress hormone norepinephrine, and secondly, by creating the space for the pituitary gland to produce extremely beneficial hormones which go on to do much more good all through your systems

2. Sage -  Salvia Officinalis

Sage - Salvia Officinalis

This herb got its name from the Latin "salvare" - which means to save. Sage is a classic example of why herbs can score over man-made cocktails of chemicals, because as time goes by, research is discovering more and more benefits of this seemingly simple herb, which the ancients knew about all along.

Sage has been scientifically proven to enhance memory and clear the mind; it is also a powerful antioxidant, and many other things besides.

Stress is not just a physical matter; there are many aspects to it, emotional, spiritual, and Sage acts strongly on those levels, restoring balance and common sense where there was chaos.

3. Rosemary - Rosmarini Officinalis

Greek scholars used to wear rosemary in their hair to help them think clearly and study well - Rosemary has many beneficial effects on the mind, and the body.

As an anti-stress herb, Rosemary relaxes the muscles in the body and that's one of the most important things in the fight against stress which is always associated with tension. With more relaxation in the muscles, you get better blood flow into the brain and eyes as well, so that's where the mental clarity comes in as well.

Apart from all of that, Rosemary is stuffed with minerals and vitamins, and cheaply available everywhere, so if you can only afford one herb against stress, this might be it for you.

4. Dill - Anethum Graveolens

Dill - Anethum Graveolens

Does your stomach flip when you're stressed? One of the bad side effects of having too much adrenaline for too long in our systems is that our digestive system shuts down and starts working erratically. This is why highly stressed people get stomach ulcers.

Dill has been used since ancient times to soothe upset stomachs, relax the stomach, relieve digestion cramps so if you carry your stress in your stomach, Dill is the first choice of herb to help with stress.

The name dill is derived from the Saxon verb dilla, to lull, because of its tranquillizing properties, and its causing children to sleep. Perfect!

5.  Tarragon - Artemisia Dracunculus

With its name from the Arabic word "tarkhun", which means "little dragon", Tarragon is a fine herbal friend against stress. Amongst its many good qualities is pain relief, which leads to relaxation and feeling more peaceful without being tranquilized.

Tarragon promotes calmness, balance in appetite and it also contains minerals which can be in short supply in a modern industrial diet.

This herbal remedy has been used for thousands of years for calming hyperactive children - which makes it a very good herb for stress relief.

6. Chamomile - Matricaria Chamomilla

The ancient Egyptians dedicated the chamomile herb to the sun because it cured so many things, including fever, aging, and the problems associated with overindulging in rich foods, drugs, and alcohol. In the middle ages, chamomile was the preferred remedy to stave off delirium tremens and to cure children of nightmares.

A lot of stress problems these days also have components of overindulgence and taking in too many substances of one kind, or the other - and we pay the price in physical stress on the body. The kind of long term stress that modern people experience is clearly a form of overheating the circuitry, so chamomile comes in handy there too. Proven to have a relaxing and restorative effect, a good all round anti-stress herbal remedy.

7. Red Clover - Trifolium Pratense

Red clover contains strong concentrations of natural plant estrogen called phytoestrogens. This is a hormone that occurs both in men and women, and recent studies have begun to suggest that additional estrogen can alleviate the symptoms of schizophrenia, which are not all that different from the symptoms experienced under very high stress.
Red clover also reduces cholesterol, acts on the arteries and the blood, and does lots of other good things for people who suffer from stress and could be considered candidates for a future heart attack.

In Conclusion

  • Taking herbs for stress relief is one of the easiest, cheapest and healthiest ways to help your body and your mind in the fight against stress.
You can eat the herbs with your food, dried, fresh, in teas, stews, on pizzas, in salads, soups, curries and stir fries every day. Most of the herbs on this list are available for pennies at the local supermarket. There are also mountains of herbal supplements you can take in pill form - not as much fun by a long shot as putting living or dried herbs into your food!

Probably the nicest and most de-stressing way to get your anti-stress herbs is to grow them in a pot or in your garden. Then you also have a real connection with nature there which is, after all, THE best form of stress relief there ever was - or ever will be.

Pumpkin Seeds, Small Seeds,That Improve Urinary Flow And Bladder Emptying - What All Men Over 40 And Almost All Women Need To Know!

Subtly sweet and nutty with a malleable, chewy texture, the roasted seeds from inside your Halloween pumpkin are one of the most nutritious and flavorful seeds around. While pumpkin seeds are available year round, they are the freshest in the fall when pumpkins are in season.

Pumpkin seeds, also known as pepitas, are flat, dark green seeds. Some are encased in a yellow-white husk, although some varieties of pumpkins produce seeds without shells. Like cantaloupe, cucumber, and squash, pumpkins and pumpkin seeds belong to the gourd or Cucurbitaceae family

Is there a connection between Pumpkin Seeds and health?
Is this an effective natural prostate health supplement and bladder and Urinary Incontinence nutrient?
After answering these questions below and reading this article, you'll learn about the unique benefits from this healthy seed

  • Do you find it difficult to hold back the urge to urinate?
  • Do you have embarrassing “oops” moments when sneezing, coughing or laughing?
  • Do you wake up frequently at night to visit the toilet?
  • Do you avoid drinking the recommended 6-8 glasses of water daily to avoid going to the toilet too much?
  • Do you dribble slowly during urination and continue to dribble even when you’re finished?
If you answered YES to any of the questions above, you are suffering from Urinary Incontinence.
Aging could be a difficult process to go through. It sometimes comes with unsightly changes and inconveniences that anyone wishes would never happen to them.

Your health may also suffer as years are added to your age. All your unhealthy activities brought about by an unhealthy lifestyle would definitely take a toll on your body in the long run. There are reasons why old people are less active and less mobile. There are reasons why they are almost defenseless against the common illnesses. Most of those reasons can be found on a single look at how you have lived your life. But since it is too late to revert, your last resort is to be in constant contact with a health professional about the treatments you may undergo to delay the aging process in your case.

One ugly mark of aging is loss of bladder control or Urinary Incontinence. When you are aged 50 and above, you will most likely find it hard to control wetting your underwear. But do not blame your age for it. Anyone may suffer from Urinary Incontinence. It’s just that, it is nine times more common in older people than their younger counterpart.

Urinary Incontinence is a condition where you fail to control your urine from leaking out. Although a condition in itself, involuntary loss of urine is often caused by another medical condition. This makes it more complicated than it may seem.

Most of the factors that trigger Urinary Incontinence like childbirth, urinary tract infections, and vaginal irritation occur to women. That is why it is found more frequently in women than in men.

Although UIs have traditionally been associated with women, men should also be aware of these similar symptoms as a man ages. As they get older, they are at greater risk for developing several prostate problems, UIs included and this is also known in layman terms as a swollen prostate. After the age of 50, between 20 and 50 percent of men will experience at least one UI.  Male UIs are usually associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or benign prostatic hypertrophy, prostatitis, and a general weakening of the urinary tract muscles.

Front view diagram of male urinary tract showing normal urine flow from the kidneys through the ureters to the bladder. Urine then passes out of the body through the urethra, which is surrounded by the prostate.

So, if Urinary incontinence (UI) is any involuntary leakage of urine. It is a common and distressing problem, which may have a profound impact on quality of life, so  how about BHP?

What is Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH)?

Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy is a fairly common condition for men as they get older. Symptoms begin with men over 45 years of age and experts say that BPH can be as high as 90% in all men over 64 years. It refers to the increase in size of the prostate.

Common symptoms of UI and BPH include:
  • You have embarrassing “oops” moments when sneezing, coughing or laughing
  • You wake up frequently at night to visit the toilet
  • You avoid drinking the recommended 6-8 glasses of water daily to avoid going to the toilet too much
  • You dribble slowly during urination and continue to dribble even when you’re finished
  • You find it difficult to hold back the urge to urinate
The symptoms of BPH, are almost the same as UI, included

  • You have trouble starting urination.
  • You get urine stream weakens when urinating.
  • You got a feeling of 'fullness' after urinating.
  • You are in frequent urination at night.
This increased swelling may also put you at risk for urinary tract infections and even prostate cancer. Experts say prescription drugs aren't 100% effective and surgery is the only sure-fire way to treat this by cutting out the prostate.

So what can you do to reduce your chances for UI and BPH and improving bladder function?

Introducing Pumpkin Seed Extract - An Effective Natural Prostate Health Supplement The Medicinal benefits of the Pumpkin Seed (Cucurbita pepo)

  • Approved by German E Commission as a treatment for urinary incontinence.
  • While, conventional oil rich seed from Cucurbita pepo is less effective in treating urinary incontinence, fat-free pumpkin seed contains higher levels of active components in the form of proteins, amino acids and phenols that helps alleviate urinary incontinence.

    • Only fat-free Pumpkin Seeds from Cucurbita pepo are effective in treating urinary incontinence.
    • Conventional pumpkin seeds are prone to rancidity because of their high oil content. Rancid oil contains cell-damaging chemicals such as peroxides that cause clogged arteries as well as free radicals that can attack body cells and DNA, contributing to heart disease and cancer.

    • Fat-Free of Pumpkin Seed Extract

To support these claims, here are some studies found on the health connection between Pumpkin Seed  and prostate health more in detail.

Pumpkin Seed Proven to Improve Prostate Health

Budapest, Hungary - Researchers treated 60 patients with benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) with Peponen capsules, a prostate health supplement containing 300 mg. of pumpkin seed extract. Patients took the pumpkin seed supplement for the following durations:

    • 26 patients took the drug for 10 months.
    • 22 for at least 7 months.
    • 12 for at least 4 months.

Each daily dose was 3 capsules, twice a day for the first month, then 3 capsules, once a day for the remainder of the study, and the results are:

    • More than 80% of the patients experienced improvement in bladder function.
    • Urinary flow was stronger and there was a reduction in the frequency of night time urination.
    • There was also a reduction in painful and difficult discharge.

Pumpkin Seed Extract Inhibits Hormone Responsible for Causing an Enlarged Prostat

Researchers look at the effect of pumpkin seed on testosterone-induced growth of the prostate of rats. Unfortunately for men, testosterone can cause an enlarged prostate.

In this study, researchers encouraged prostate growth by injecting rats with testosterone for 20 days. Following the injections, the rats were given either pumpkin seed extract or corn extract for 20 days.
Their weight was recorded weekly and assessed for any influence the testosterone and pumpkin seeds may have on weight gain. The prostate size ratio (prostate weight/body weight) was measured to check for enlargement. Researchers found that pumpkin seed caused a reduction in prostate size and concluded that pumpkin seed can inhibit growth of the prostate due to testosterone.

Then, what is the nutrient Pumpkin Seed ingredients ? Below is the table :

Some experts say that since the highest nutrient of pumpkin seed ingredient is Manganese which is needed to get healthy bones, cartilage and skin as good as to cover any deficiency that might be at the root of your pelvic weakness. Also because the cause of Urinary Bladder Incontinence is  high potassium, low chromium, low magnesium, low manganese, and low sulfur, so pumpkin seeds that are rich of manganese and magnesium are  important  mineral treatment intake for the patients with UI and BPH
